Here is an example of a past National LIFTOR ALERT!...our periodic newsletter..... ____________________________________________________________________________________________
![]()
4th Quarter, 2001 Dear Clients and Friends of National LIFTOR, Welcome! This "National LIFTOR ALERT!" contains current information that you may be able to use as you join us in... providing operators with the resources they need to keep from harm's way. 1. Special CONGRATULATIONS to L'Oreal USA's (Maybelline) Licensed Industrial Site in North Little Rock, Arkansas! They have won the "National LIFTOR Award for Exemplary Management and Training of Lift Truck Operators". This award is granted to each licensed industrial site that demonstrates complete compliance with OSHA 1910.178 (l) while making significant improvements in the validity and usefulness of National LIFTOR standardized practices at their industrial site. L'Oreal USA's Maybelline Manufacturing and Administration unit, at 11500 Maybelline Drive in North Little Rock, AR is the first such National LIFTOR Licensed Industrial Site granted this award.2. Recently, we validated the operator certification test, learning objectives, and daily/shift examination job-aid for PERSONNEL CARTS/BURDEN CARRIERS. (Some of you call them buggies or golf carts). As a result, you (licensed industrial site subscribers only, please) can now order certification packets for your mechanics, supervisors, security guards, or others needing to be trained on this type of equipment. 3. In Development: Our next certification packet (related test, learning objectives, examination forms, etc.) will include the scissors lifts used by many of your industrial sites. Here's an interesting note to some: Scissors lift equipment is classified by OSHA as a "mobile scaffold" and NOT an aerial lift...a common mistake. Such a mistake is understandable, though confusing, to some people in general industry. The confusion is understandable, since mobile scaffolds are most common in the construction industry and regulated under OSHA's construction standard. National LIFTOR will act accordingly. 4. The next National LIFTOR Certified Instructor & Test Examiner
Workshops will be held: Register now by email, by calling or faxing Toll Free: 1-888-4-LIFTOR. Leave your name, title, delivery address. email, phone and fax number. Be sure to state your date preferences. Remember, though, you have to hold National LIFTOR Certified OPERATOR credentials BEFORE you can get into the workshop. Front-Line Supervisors/Managers are given seating preference. If you're NOT already a National LIFTOR Licensed Industrial Site, please call and ask how you can become part of the National LIFTOR Network. 5. Here's some FREE stuff! If you haven't received your FREE supply of "Daily/Shift Examination forms for Powered Low Lift Trucks" (motorized Hand Trucks, Pallet Jacks, etc.), please call to place an order for your industrial site Toll Free 1-888-4-LIFTOR. You will receive a FREE supply... enough to last six (6) months for four (4) motorized hand(pallet) trucks (walkie/riders). OSHA requires operators to examine these (pallet) trucks before each shift, but my observations suggest that very few are actually doing so. The FREE supply is to get you started. Each form includes a record and job-aided set of questions to ask about this class of truck, and provides a convenient way to guide the training your operators need to receive. (You will be invoiced for shipping, only. Extra forms are $6 per truck for a one year supply). 6. For those licensed industrial sites that don't yet have one, we are about to make a special purchase of card laminators. After Certified Test Examiners sign, they need a laminator to "cook" the credentials generated by National LIFTOR Headquarters. We anticipate a cost of $50 each + shipping ($6). If your Certified Test Examiner doesn't have easy access to one, please phone in or email your order BEFORE October 30, 2001. 7. Some Certified Instructor/Test Examiners are trying to operate with an instructor kit that is more than 3 years old. If you wish to purchase a new 2001/2002 kit, complete with digital timers, tape measure, and the latest versions of all National LIFTOR Certification Packets (Tests, Learning Objectives, and Examination Forms), the cost is $275 each + shipping (about $16). Call-in or email your order . 8. Remember, you can now receive a set of Quarterly National LIFTOR reports via email (MS-WORD format)...just for the asking. If you want to know such things as who at your Licensed Industrial Site is current with their certification, how many people need to be re-certified this year, or if you simply want an alphabetical list of National LIFTOR certified operators, let me know via email at jmonaco@LIFTOR.com/ Be sure to identify yourself in your email. 9. If you have any questions about National LIFTOR, its behavior-based standards, or how you might use any of its resources at your industrial site, please call or send an email. 10. Finally, did you know that Monaco Group, Inc. can provide customized consultation and training services for any human performance need at your company?
